The care which Aristocrat is showing for its Russia-based employees is shining an even better light on social responsibility in iGaming.
Renowned slots manufacturer Aristocrat has provided a major update on the significant holdings it maintains in currently embattled Ukraine.
New Report on Russia
The report on the impact of the Russian invasion revealed an update on the approximately 1000 People working for business units within Aristocrat’s Ukraine-based Pixel United business.
Aristocrat's Employee Support
Aristocrat confirmed assistance for “over two-thirds of our Ukraine-based employees and their families to voluntarily relocate, either internationally or to safer locations within the country.”
Transitional Task Force
Aristocrat further confirmed the creation of a dedicated task force in Poland designed to assist all families and staff of Aristocrat's Ukraine based operations.
Diversified Assistance
According to the announcement, “Aristocrat is providing transport, visas and legal help, housing and settling-in assistance for relocated staff.”
Throughout the conflict, Aristocrat has maintained a steady stream of funds, shelter, emergency supplies and other direct aid.
Relocating Staff
Ukraine staff is being successfully relocated according to the company, empowered to work remotely through other Pixel United studio divisions around Europe, with a new office set to open soon in Wroclaw, Poland.
Aristocrat's Statement Against Russia
Aristocrat addressed the situation in Russia directly by saying:
“Unfortunately, operating in Russia is currently not viable and Aristocrat confirms it will suspend operating our mobile games in Russia.”
Russia's Historical Contribution
Aristocrat further revealed that Russia has historically contributed an estimated 3% of total Pixel United bookings. As for employees based in Russia under the Aristocrat umbrella, the company said it is “exploring our strategic options and we will continue to do what we can to support our Russia-based employees.”
