The Group Stage of the Champions League gets underway tonight with a number of big matchups on the card. None as big as the French Champions taking on the Gunners in Paris. PSG has had a shaky start to the beginning of the French league, but so has Arsenal. The Gunners think that they can come home with a win to open the Champions League but PSG new head coach Unai Emery is convinced that his team will overcome their recent loss, after Zlatan Ibrahimovic left for Manchester United and they will hold the Gunners at bay.
Arsene Wenger knows just how important Ibrahimovic was for PSG and not having the star on their side is a major blow. PSG opened the season with two straight wins, but have since lost to Monaco and have drawn with Saint Etienne. Arsenal started the Premier League with a loss to Liverpool and a draw with Leicester, but have since won two straight and hope to make it three across all competitions with a win tonight.
Arsenal should have their defender, Laurent Koscielny back in the lineup tonight after a facial injury in the weekends win over Southampton. Excited to welcome new signing Shkodran Mustafi to the Gunners' roster, Wenger may use him with Koscielny to save any PSG attack.
Arguably one of the best strikers in the world right now, Olivier Giroud is pushing for his first start of the season, but only time will tell if Wenger will put him on the pitch for first touch.
