When it comes to learning more about how casino games make their way from concept to fan favourite, we are often speaking with marketing leads or even founders.
Today’s interview was a real treat, in that we got to sit down with Ineta Aluzaite, the Game Artist & Illustrator at PearFiction Studios, to learn more about the creative process and their exciting Squealin’ Riches 2 release.
From an artist’s perspective, I’d say it’s the combination of high-quality visuals and a great sense of humour. When I joined PearFiction, it was immediately clear that the studio had really high artistic standards. I was lucky to work alongside an amazing artist and a brilliant art director, and I’ve learned a lot from both.
Over time, our visual quality just kept getting better. And then there’s the comedy, that’s such a big part of our DNA. One of the first games I tested was an old Galactic Invaders slot, featuring a fun and quirky theme. While we’ve made a few more serious casino games along the way, I think we shine brightest when we lean into the humour, it’s more fun for us, and more fun for players too.
I think we’re lucky that we’re encouraged to explore ideas freely and not be afraid to try something new and fun. Sometimes it can be tricky to align the visual style with the game mechanics, but by working closely with the team, we often find creative workarounds that result in something really unique. It’s definitely a challenge, but one that usually leads to awesome results.
I can only speak from an artist’s perspective, but I tend to spend a lot of time on social media, following artists I admire and exploring new games and visual styles. I’m constantly exposed to new trends, and I draw inspiration from those to influence my work.
That one’s hard to predict. Sometimes we’re certain a game will be a hit, but it performs well and doesn’t quite reach the heights we expected. And other times, we release something and it just takes off. You never really know until it’s out there.
The first Piggy performed incredibly well, so creating a sequel felt like a natural step. The character is fantastic; everyone loved him. Since the original launched quite a while ago, it felt like the perfect time to bring him back into the spotlight, with a new look and even more exciting features.
A lot of coins, coins everywhere, haha! More riches, more money, and now Piggy has an even bigger bank.

The development was a blast! We knew we wanted to bring Piggy back bigger and better, so we leaned into the fun. Personally, I love the Swinetastic Zone, Piggy in a unicorn costume? Come on, it’s adorable. It adds so much personality and surprise, and I think fans are really going to love it.
There’s always something cooking at PearFiction! I can’t say too much, but we’ve got some wild ideas in the works, new characters, fun features, and graphics that’ll blow your socks off. Let’s just say… if you liked Piggy, you’re gonna love what’s coming next.
