Guardians of the Galaxy Hitting Theaters Worldwide

Marvel's highly anticipated film Guardians of the Galaxy is hitting theaters across the world this weekend. Currently sitting on an impressive 9 ranking in IMDB, Comic Con 2014 saw the announcement that a sequel is already in the works, slated for a 2017 release.

An Epic and Funny Space Adventure

Based on a popular comic book series, Guardians of the Galaxy follows space adventurer Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) who's on the run from an intergalactic villain called Ronan (Lee Pace), after getting his hands on a special orb which can shape the future of the galaxy.

Quill, whose nickname is Star-Lord, finds a group of zany space misfits who aid him in his escape from Ronan which turns into a fate-deciding fight. These misfits include exceptional figures like a genetically engineered raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) and a tree-like humanoid (Vin Diesel). The movie was produced by Kevin Feige and directed by James Gunn who also co-wrote the screenplay with Nicole Perlman.

Positive Reviews

From the reviews published so far and the IMDB rating, it seems that Guardians of the Galaxy delivers in its attempt to be both epic and hilarious at the same time. The film's "Tomatometer" is above 90 percent in the popular site Rotten Tomatoes. Gizmo's review went wild for the film, telling readers to "Shut Up and Go See It" in the title.
