Late Night NHL Western Conference FinalPublished May 19, 2015 by Sol FH
Don't miss out on Game 2 of the best-of-7 series between the Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks live at 2:00 (UK).
This is it! The winner of this series will be in the Stanley Cup Finals against either the Tampa Bay Lightning or the New York Rangers. The Ducks got out to a huge win in Game 1 the other night, as they controlled the Hawks winning 4-1 at home. Anaheim still has home-ice advantage for tonight's matchup and look like they have what it takes to win yet again in California.
There is absolutely no shortage of talent on the ice in this series. Jonathan Toews, Ryan Getzlaf, Patrick Kane and Ryan Kesler are some of the best in the NHL but it was Andrew Cogliano and Kyle Palmieri with center Nate Thompson that really made Game 1 a winner. The Ducks are playing some incredible hockey and after one game, they look like the team to beat this year, but it is still way too early to tell and the Blackhawks are ready to get their revenge.
Don't Count the Hawks out Yet
Chicago is a team that has more history and arguably more depth than any other remaining in the 2015 NHL Playoffs. Their roster has been the envy of coaches around the league, so it's no mistake that they are in the Western Conference Championship. Chicago got off to a rough start but you should expect this series to go at least six games.
The Hawks had 16 shots on goal in the first period of Game 1 and finished with 33 total, but Andersen was too good in the net for the Ducks and only let in one goal in his winning performance. Be sure that Chicago will put a lot more pressure on the net in this game and will also be looking to score on the fly.
