Liverpool and Manchester City Lock Horns in Premier League Derby

Liverpool travels to Manchester for an action-packed game against City and the chance to overtake the leader (12:30 p.m UK Time).
Manchester United is the current leader of the Premier League, but their city rivals and Liverpool are breathing down their neck. Manchester City could overtake the leaders if they win in front of their fans, but this looks like a tough mission against the red-hot Liverpool. The visitors have scored plenty of goals this season and they play offensive football on the road, so the hosts will be under a lot of pressure.
Liverpool to Extend Unbeaten Run
The visitors had a busy schedule recently, having played in the Champions League playoffs to secure passage to the group stage. Fatigue took its toll on certain players and that’s why they were unable to seal the deal against Watford who scored the equalizer in the final minute of overtime. Now that most of the players have returned to fitness and just three footballers are absent, Liverpool is back on track.
Against Manchester City, the visitors should play prudently and try to score on the counterattack. They have plenty of fast and skilled players, so this strategy can work brilliantly against the stiff defense. Liverpool hasn’t lost a match in the last 20 rounds and looks capable to maintain its high goal production.
Mediocre Record in Derby Matches
Manchester City wins most of the games played against weaker opponents but struggles when competing against the best teams in the Premier League. Liverpool does the exact opposite and is more successful when playing in derbies such as this one is scheduled for Saturday.
After the recent struggles against Girona, Everton and Bournemouth, Manchester City simply can’t be trusted to defeat Liverpool. It makes more sense to bet on the visitors not to lose and take odds of 9/10 on a double chance wager with bet365 Sports. A bet on at least three goals to be scored is also tempting, given the impressive firepower for both teams.
