Liverpool and Manchester Play the Premier League North West Derby

Liverpool and Manchester play the most exciting match of the week, as the former Premier League winners meet in the North West Derby

There are matches scheduled in all the important European football leagues on Sunday, but one game stands out from the crowd. Commonly referred to as the North West Derby, the match between Manchester United and Liverpool always draws large crowds. A sea of Red will flood Anfield road, where the hosts are overwhelming favorites to defeat their archrivals.

Liverpool and Manchester United Reignite Timeless Rivalry

Liverpool have won all 11 games at Anfield and are yet to lose a match in the Premier League this season. They are so good that in spite of the name of their opponents, bet365 Sports only offers odds of 9/20 on their victory. Liverpool have played plenty of games in recent weeks, but have enough depth to field a competitive starting formation for this important fixture.

Manchester United are far more motivated to win this game, as they are in dire need of points. Currently sitting outside the places that would make them eligible for a Champions League berth, the former champions are under a lot of pressure. Their away record is underwhelming and after losing on the road against Arsenal, they get odds of 6/1 to defeat the leaders.

Easy Tasks for Juventus, AC Milan and AS Roma

There are plenty of matches scheduled in the Italian first division on Sunday, but most of them are lopsided affairs. Juventus are back in the driver’s seat and likely to remain there as they play against Parma at 7:45 PM UK time. The hosts are so much better, that 888 Sport feels comfortable to offer the odds of only 1/4, as opposed to 11/1 for the visitors.

AC Milan also have home pitch advantage against Udinese and are widely expected to win. They are far from ideal form, but take on one of the worst traveling teams in the championship, hence the odds of 1/2. It is going to be slightly more difficult for AS Roma to win on the road against Genoa and the odds have climbed steadily until hitting even value.

Smooth Ride for German and Spanish Reigning Champions

Barcelona are counting on Sevilla to cause an upset on Saturday and defeat Real Madrid on the road. Even if they don’t succeed, Barcelona can keep the first place by defeating Granada at home one day later. In the last match of the day, scheduled at 8 PM UK time, the reigning champions are huge favorites against the newly promoted team, with odds of 1/5, as opposed to 16/1.

Bayern Munich are also expected to win in spite of playing on the road against Hertha Berlin earlier in the day. They were recently defeated in the domestic Cup, but otherwise, play well both at home and on the road. The biggest concern ahead of this fixture is the high number of injured and suspended players.
