Microgaming to Fund Local University Education

Isle of Man gaming industry leader Microgaming has established a bursaries initiative to serve a number of qualified students from the Isle of Man whose educational careers have been thrown into doubt for financial reasons.

Program Funds Student Living Expenses

With the program, Microgaming will fund all living expenses outside of course fees for up to £6,000 per annum. Awards will go to students who demonstrate talent in their areas of study, as Microgaming seeks to promote home-grown talent.

Microgaming CEO Roger Raatgever says this of the Isle of Man's youth, “It is essential that we provide them with the tools to reach their potential and that’s why we created this initiative. We are incredibly passionate about Corporate Social Responsibility and are proud of the contribution we make to the Island...our new education initiative complements the work we already do on the island. We want to see the Isle of Man thrive.”

The Isle of Man's Department of Education and Children (DEC) will oversee the bursaries, available to students eligible for a DEC maintenance grant in an approved undergraduate degree course. Applications for 2014 bursaries are being accepted until August 20, 2014 and can be found on Microgaming's website (under News).
