NBA Finals Game 1: Cavaliers vs Warriors

Sol FH. - June 1, 2017

A rematch of last year's NBA Finals starts tonight at 2:00 GMT with the Cavs at the Warriors.

It is the matchup we have all been waiting for, an actually the one we have been expecting since last year's Finals. The two top-ranked teams to make the NBA Finals for the last two years go head-to-head tonight in Game 1 of the NBA Finals. The Warriors are the favorites to win this year, with top online sportsbooks like bet365 Sports giving them the advantage, but it really doesn't mean that much as we have seen in the past, this series could go either way.

The Warriors are looking for revenge for last year after the Cavs made a historic comeback down 3-1, but ultimately, led by arguably the best player in the history of the NBA, LeBron James to win 4-3. The Warriors won the 2015 NBA Finals against the Cavs 4-2, and this year will definitely decide which team is the best.

The Warriors added Kevin Durant to their roster this year, which was one of the best moves that they could've made. Adding yet another superstar to their team was exactly what they needed, and even though they didn't match the 73 wins they had during the 2016 season, they still were the best in the league going 67-15. The Warriors have still not lost a game during the playoffs this year with 12 straight wins. Many critics thought that the Spurs would give them a bit more resistance, but after they lost Kawhi Leonard to an ankle injury, the Warriors took the series in 4-straight.

The Cavaliers have also been spectacular during this year's playoffs only dropping one game to the Celtics during the Conference Finals. Even though they are underdogs going into this year's Finals, they should definitely not be overlooked. Led by James and supporting roles by Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, the Cavs are a force not to be reckoned with. They have shown the world that they can beat the Warriors and head coach Tyronn Lue was actually more worried about their series against the Celtics than he is against the Warriors. "The stuff they're running (Celtics), it's harder to defend than Golden State's (offense) for me," he related.

NBA Finals Betting

bet365 Sports has the Warriors as favorites to win Game 1 at 1.31 to the Cavs' 3.60. Due to the fact that the Warriors are much more rested and have a bit of an advantage with the ultimate lineup of Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Expect the Warriors to win Game 1, but the series will most-likely go back and forth.
