Net Entertainment becomes one of first online gambling firms to enter social network
Net Entertainment has been a pioneer in the field of online casino games for a number of years, but now it is moving into a different arena by becoming one of the first in its industry to enter real play money gaming on Facebook.
Social gaming move
NetEnt has announced the signing of a license agreement with social gaming developer Bonza Gaming, a joint venture of Sportingbet and Plumbee. Under the agreement, the Swedish firm will deliver a wide range of slots and casino games to Bonza, who will then offer those games in real-money format through Facebook app Bonza Slots.
As a Net Entertainment spokesperson said, the firm's gaming portfolio contains many of the world's most popular online casino games, and this new deal will provide an exciting new opportunity for Facebook users to enjoy the same titles.
Facebook embraces gaming
Facebook, by far the world's largest social network, made headlines last year when it enabled millions of British members to access real-money gaming through the launch of a bingo app by independent gaming partner Gamesys, combined with the release of plans to eventually offer virtual slots.
The merge of real-money and social gaming on Facebook has been coming for some time.
