Is there a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon other than watching Chelsea vs Arsenal? Tune in at 14:05 (UK) for all the action.
Arsenal head over to Stamford Bridge today to try their luck against Jose Mourinho's brilliant Chelsea F.C. The Blues have taken first place in the Premier League and look to broaden their margin with a win over Arsene Wenger's unbeaten, albeit fourth place team. This is not a London derby to be missed, as it will be an example of two heavyweights going nonstop for 90+ minutes.
Previous Meetings and Predictions
Last season Arsenal were crushed by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge 6-0, and that loss is something that the Gunners would like to be able to forget about. Chelsea have been excellent already this year over six games, easily beating Aston Villa 3-0 at home. The surprising second place Southampton squad is still holding on, now three full points behind the Blues, but Chelsea are pulling away from all of the 'contenders' like Manchester City and Manchester United.
Diego Costa already has eight goals as we get into October and leads the Blues. Branislav Ivanovic and André Schürrle both have a pair, while midfielders like Willian, Oscar and Cesc Fabregas have controlled the pitch against virtually all competition. It will be an interesting game for Fabregas, as he faces his old squad. A star for the gunners, Fabregas has become well acclimated in Chelsea but has a deep-rooted love for his former team.
Arsenal recently lost three of their midfielders and they will be feeling the pressure today. Mikel Arteta, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere all left the pitch against Tottenham, and Wilshere should be the only one to return today. Debuchy and Monreal are also out today but it could be a chance to witness Mesut Ozil to show his incredible talent.
