Premier League Preview: Chelsea Vs. Newcastle

The Blues take on the Magpies tonight at 20:00 as Chelsea keen on a return to the top 4.

Chelsea has been on a tear lately and will be looking for a fifth win in-a-row as they host Newcastle at Stamford Bridge tonight.

The Blues, who beat the Magpies 2-0 back in November in the reverse fixture at St James' Park, are fresh off their 1-0 victory over Barnsley in the FA Cup. Chelsea has not lost since January 19 and seems to have things in order after a shaky start to the season.

Now, with their sights on the FA Cup Quarterfinals, the Blues, under the stewardship of Thomas Tuchel have extended their unbeaten record to five matches. Since Frank Lampard was outed last month as Chelsea boss, Tuchel has done an excellent job of maintaining a clean record.

Newcastle Struggling to Compete

Steve Bruce's side is down in 17th place and has won two of its last five in the Premier League. The Magpies did beat Southampton (13th place) last week but picked up a red card in the process.

Newcastle pressed Southampton throughout the match which turned out to be the key to victory. Their fans think that this same tactic could be used against the Blues tonight.

Some people think that Chelsea hasn't been playing great but their record proves they are doing enough. True, they did allow a terrible goal against Sheffield in league play last week, but, they are at home tonight and it will be a tough task for Newcastle to get a draw or a win.

Premier League Betting

The Blues are the big favorites ahead of tonight's matchup, as bet365 Sports has posted odds in their favor of 1.22. The Magpies are way back at 12.00, while a draw comes in at 6.50. Expect a Chelsea win and their streak to continue.
