Red Sox vs Rays Live Odds: Sox with Chance to Move to Top of AL EastPublished August 22, 2016 by Sol FH
The Red Sox are just a half a game from the Blue Jays. Can they take the lead tonight at 00:10 GMT?
With only a few weeks left in the MLB regular season all teams with playoff hopes left for this wild season are making a final push. The Red Sox were down and out a couple of months ago, but after rallying in the last quarter of the year, they are now in excellent position to make it to the off-season, but need a winning streak to ensure their spot. Tampa Bay stands in their way and could destroy their ambitions. If Tampa wants the win they will need to beat one of the best pitchers in baseball, as David Price takes the mound.
David Price started his career at Tropicana Field and he returns there tonight to pitch against his former team. The Rays are throwing their young gun Blake Snell at the red Sox in hopes that he can shut the heavy Red Sox offense from doing what they do best. Snell beat the Padres last week allowing just one run in five innings but over three August starts he has an ERA of 3.00.
Price is a machine and has made it over seven innings in 19 of his 26 starts. There is little that anyone can do against Price, that is except for the Rays. Price is 0-3 against the Rays since they traded him but is one a two-game winning streak and hopes that he can beat his old team.
