First Ever Casino Role-Playing Slot

PartyCasinohas introduced a daring new innovation to the world of online slots, with the launch of the first ever role-playing slot title. Circus Slot, "the spectacular slot game like nothing you've ever seen before," sounds more like a computer game than your regular online slots. It allows players to choose from four characters with unique abilities and story lines to play the adventure-themed game. To add to the experience, 16 bonus games - all sticking to the circus theme - have been included, allowing players to put themselves in the position of a lion tamer, magician, acrobat and more. Combining elements from slots and other games, Circus promises to unlock more and more as the game goes on. Players can increase their abilities as it continues to raise their cash winnings. And the best thing about this game is that it saves your progress, meaning players can return later onto where they last left off. On top of all this, users can also simultaneously play multiple adventures with different characters. Party Casino develops its own software and offers unique features - and games - available only on its casino. Visit Party Casino for Circus slots and more casino action.

World's First Webcam Poker Room

The world of poker has just been introduced to yet another creative innovation, with a Slovakian company launching what it claims is the world's first online poker room with integrated webcams. Tom Horn Enterprises has launched the webcam poker room on FacePokerLive.com, which uses the Adobe Flash platform and is available for users of Macs, PCs or Linux. The company's business director Jan Horyna said the Face Poker technology is a webcam based solution that allows players to see each other while also communicating via the chat function. "I am very happy that our latest technology can finally reach the ones for whom we developed it, the real poker player," Horyn said. The poker world is changing so rapidly that we at Online Casino Reports suggest betting sites should start offering odds on what the next innovation will be.

Qualifying for 2010 World Series of Poker

The World Series of Poker is without doubt the biggest event in card games, and most poker sites offer their customers several ways to land a seat at the event through online qualification. There is plenty of time to get involved and score a seat in Vegas, with the tournament set to run from May 27 to July 17 at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino, and the final table returning for the Main Event from November 6-9. PartyPoker, TitanPoker and PKR are just three of the sites hosting qualification tournaments for this year's WSOP. Party Poker is offering a $14,000 WSOP package to all winners, including the $10,000 WSOP Main Event buy-in, $2000 spending money, and accommodation. The site is hosting a comprehensive range of qualifiers, starting with the daily freerolls that have already begun. The odds are quite good. One in 10 players at the WSOP satellite qualifiers will go through to the next WSOP satellite, and one in 20 players at the satellite will go to Vegas. Titan Poker is offering a variety of ways to get to both the WSOP Main Event and to a whole host of side event tournaments. The site is hosting Sunday weekly super satellites with the lure of a $13,000 package to the Main Event in Las Vegas. It is also offering the chance to go to two consecutive WSOP side events at Harrah's Casino through a super satellite promotion. PKR will be holding regular WSOP qualification tournaments, beginning with the first few stages back on Tuesday April 6.

Lithuania Grants Poker Official Sport Status

Poker has won a major victory in the eastern European country of Lithuania by being recognized there as an official sport. The Department of Physical Education and Sports, which is the official ruling body for sports in the country, issued a decree on March 20 recognizing the Lithuanian Sports Poker Federation as an official sports federation. The ruling means the LSPF will be able to organize non-commercial poker tournaments outside of casinos, which means everybody can enjoy the activity. LSPF President Andrius Tapinas applauded the ruling, calling it an "extremely important step in our work. "We are receiving congratulations from many of our colleagues abroad and I know that we are breaking thick ice with our progress for similar international initiatives." The next move the LSPF will take is to present an official tournament schedule local media, which will help give the sport the boost it deserves. Poker is already in a unique position to grow in Lithuania given Tapinas' celebrity status; he is the presenter of the country's most popular business TV show and his participation in World Series of Poker and Unibet Open tournament have been covered on the front pages of Lithuania's main daily newspapers. His organization was also recently granted member status by the International Federation of Poker, the roof body for national poker bodies. The inaugural tournament hosted by the Lithuanian Sports Poker Federation will begin on April 24 in the capital Vilnius.

Americans Love Sports Betting, Polls Say

Americans love betting on sports, despite the practice being more restricted than in Europe. In fact, around half of the approximately 118 million Americans aged 16 or older have placed a bet on sports in the past year, according to a recent poll by leading sports network ESPN. While this takes into account illegal betting, 48 US states do allow some form of gambling in their jurisdictions, with only two - Utah and Hawaii - outlawing the practice entirely. Further evidence of the American love for sports gambling is that they spend an estimated $300 billion each year on legal and illegal sports betting - which is only slightly less than the United States defense budget and more than the gross national product of Switzerland. It has also been well documented that online betting is increasingly becoming a preferred choice for sports betting. The many Las Vegas online sports books take in huge amounts of bets on major sporting events such as the Super Bowl, and lately - NCAA basketball's March Madness. Another event that is sure to see large amount bet is the US Masters which begin on Thursday in Augusta, Georgia. The fact that Tiger Woods will be competing in his first major since leaving professional golf after the giant scandal over his infidelity will only encourage gold fans to put money on the event. Woods will begin the tournament as favorite (he is currently hovering around the 9/2 mark at most sports books) but will face stiff competition from all the other big names, including South African Ernie Els.

Barca Edge Inter for Champs League Favorites

Reigning European champions Barcelona hold a firm lead in the odds to win the 2009-10 UEFA Champions League, one week out from the first leg of the semi-finals. Barca, an 8/11 Ladbrokes favorite, are followed by Italian rivals Inter Milan, 7/2, despite the two clubs being drawn to play each other in the semi-finals. Bayern Munich are 9/2 and their semi-final opponents Lyon are the clear outsider at 6/1. Unsurprisingly, Barcelona are even stronger favorites to defeat Inter and go through to the final. William Hill Online is quoting 1/3 on the Catalonians to win the semi-final, with Inter starting at 9/4. However, Inter are considered a chance of an upset in the first home leg. They are 17/10, just behind Barca's 13/1, to be ahead after 90 minutes. A draw is paying 21/10. In the other semi-final, Bayern are 8/13 and Lyon 6/5. But Bayern are expected to get off to a strong start in the first home leg, paying 4/5 against Lyon's 11/4. The draw is paying 23/4. Lionel Messi is an almost unbackable favorite to claim the tournament's golden boot. The Barcelona and Argentina star currently leads the goalscoring tally with eight goals, four ahead of any other player appearing in the semi-finals. The first legs of the semi-finals take place on April 20 and 21 in Milan and Munich, with return legs in Lyon and Barcelona on April 27 and 28.

Online Casino: The Human Story

It's most exciting when a large jackpot is awarded to a deserving winner, and the following - a casino jackpot and a human story - is one such exciting piece of news. The biggest jackpot ever at WinADay was hit this week. A retired widower won $223,420 while playing the new Reel De Luxe online slot machine. The lucky winner declared that the prize would help him to do something very special for his son with whom he lives since his wife passed away. WinADay is not your average online casino. It is exclusively a slot and video poker game online casino and offers players a range of unique and whimsical games that cannot be found anywhere else. All the games at WinADay are linked to a single progressive jackpot that grows every time any one of the games at WinADay is played. While it is impossible to predict when a jackpot will be hit, it seems that the average period of time between jackpots at WinADay is about six weeks. The typical jackpot size is around $150,000. The previous jackpot record at WinADay was won just before Christmas and was nearly $200,000. WinADay is continually expanding its suite of slots and video poker games by adding outrageously designed and fanciful games on a regular basis. All of WinADay's games are played in the no download version as it is a Flash-based casino.

Insight: Online Gambling in Europe

The non-profit European Gaming and Betting Association has put the focus on consumers in its latest newsletter, featuring an interview with the International Federation of Poker chief and a feature on consumer interests in the internal market. Poker players' expectations in digital age Award-winning journalist Anthony Holden was elected the first president of the International Federation of Poker in 2009. He spoke to the EGBA about the current climate for poker players in the EU, and discussed the limitations on players in the new digital age. Mentioning the first poker tournament held legally outside of a casino in Denmark, in which he participated, Holden criticized new legislation for not going far enough, saying that he had to make an international bank transfer in advance of the tournament that ended up costing him more than the tournament buy-in. Asked about restrictions to playing online poker in the EU, Holden slammed the "segmentation" by separate countries of online poker, adding: "By restricting access, some players may be driven into the hands of unregulated and potentially unscrupulous websites." Holden did add, however, that he was encouraged by legal progress in some EU member states, such as Denmark, Italy and France. Payback percentage and problem gambling Dr. Jonathan Parke, a senior lecturer at the University of Salford, was asked about this review on whether there is a link between problem gambling and payback percentage. The review was conducted in light of attempts by some EU member states to introduce restrictions on payback percentage in the belief that it will reduce problem gambling. Interestingly, Parke found in his review that there is no scientific evidence to back up the belief that "appropriate controls of payback percentage" would reduce problem gambling. Consumer's interest in internal market Dr. Claus-Dieter Ehlermann, former director-general of the European Commission's legal service, was asked about his opinions on the online gambling debate currently taking place in Europe. Ehlermann told the EGBA that consumers benefit far more from European laws than they might realize, pointing out that the internal market "provides benefits resulting from the four fundamental freedoms enshrined in the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union."  He went on to give details about the Treaty and its effect on online gambling law.
