Full Tilt Poker's license was suspended by Alderney following the April 15 crackdown on online poker sites in the US. In a hearing on July 26, Alderney decided to give the poker site a chance to sell to new investors, and reach a decision no later than September 15. The Mohawk Territory of Kahnawake in Canada meanwhile has granted an application to renew the Secondary Client Provider Authorization held by Full Tilt Poker for a period of 2 years, effective August 1, 2011. The license was granted to FTP's operating company, Kolyma. The decision by Kahnawake comes as a surprise, short of going against the Alderney decision and industry consensus. However, Full Tilt Poker is not expected to resume operations until a primary license is granted; Kahnawake's Secondary license requires one such. Full Tilt is not offering poker games to its players at the moment.
Canadian provinces have been branching out into the online gambling business in the last year or two, but now the western province of British Columbia is looking to go even further - by expanding to mobile gambling apps. Maintaining market share BC Lottery Corporation is reportedly looking to expand from its online games and tickets platform into the field of mobile gambling, in a response to the proliferation of unregulated sites doing the same. A spokesperson for the provincial lottery company was quoted in a local newspaper as saying no decision had been made, but it is known that customers of the province's PlayNow.com internet gambling portal have been surveyed about whether they would use mobile services. First to do online gambling British Columbia has been a pioneer in gambling in North America, having become the first government in either Canada or the United States to open its own online gambling website with the launch of PlayNow.com one year ago. That too was in response to competition from unregulated sites, which the local government estimated were taking in $100 million a year in untaxed revenues from residents of the province.
The question of Greece's online gambling state monopoly has hit center stage as the country works on meeting its debt obligations to the European Union and IMF. More on online gambling in Greece. Gov't reluctant to let go One of the requirements expected of Greece under the EU and IMF's conditions was to sell the state's 34% stake in its gambling monopoly OPAP, but this now seems unlikely to happen after comments from Greek Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos this week. Venizelos said the government may not sell all of its 34% stake in OPAP by the end of 2011, arguing that it had never pledged to do so and could instead put gambling revenues toward reducing the country's enormous public debt. Key asset OPAP, Europe's largest betting company, was one of the key assets that appeared on the list of companies Greece was supposed to privatize in 2011, as part of its drive to raise 50 billion euros from privatization of state companies by 2015. Now, instead of selling OPAP, the government will propose a draft gaming law to strengthen it, Venizelos said, adding that its value "is not only its shared by also the value of exercising its management.

Online casinos haven't been around for that long, but there have been several trends over the years that were "all the rage." Such were the basic casinos, at first, followed by Flash casinos, which required no download, mobile casinos for iPhones and Android devices, and more. Specifically, Live Dealer Casinos. Live Technology Live dealer games and live casinos are made possible thanks to two technological evolutions: webcams and broadband internet. While the former is prevalent in almost any computer, often already built in, or clipped to the screen with an external camera, internet connections are counted by the megabytes per second. Together they can carry live images from real casinos. Live Dealers The casinos had to change their settings somewhat to provide games that are not exclusively computerized. This they have with trained dealers, real life-like casino settings, and even in some cases authentic casinos hired for this purpose. Today you can find live dealers behind such games as: Live Blackjack Live Baccarat Live Roulette Live Sic Bo Live Unlimited Blackjack Live Casino Hold'em Live Mahjong Paigow The Ultimate List With live dealers, perhaps more than any other form of online gambling, the difference between casinos and software providers is most evident; no two dealers can look the same, right? Live roulette as offered at bet365 Casino is not like live roulette offered at 888casino. Moreover, you can find live sic bo at some casinos, but not in others. Accordingly you must pick the right casino depending on what game you wish to play. For competing casinos you may already wish to read their review, or look up a relevant promotion. At Online Casino Reports we provide you with a Service page that lists Live Casinos by the Live Dealer Games they offer, along with relevant bonuses and other information to consult. It will bring you a few clicks closer to meeting the live dealers in person.
