Grande Vegas Casino represents a popular choice for players from different corners of the world. The online casino has a variety of games and promotions aimed at rewarding regular customers but the true source of its popularity is its big payback percentage. As a result, big wins take place every day and the casino lists some of them on the website. The Winners The banner of winners features some very impressive amounts which easily exceed a few hundred dollars. For example, Chuck J. has just landed a prize of $243, while Anna B. got a bit luckier and won $2,400. Other winners include Christian S. for $450, Tim G. for $380.25 and Risto H. for $480. The Games Real Time Gaming provides an entire list of games which covers table games, slots, video poker and other titles. Players tend to be more attracted to the spinning reels than the cards and these represent a major source for the big prizes. Slots offer different types of winnings based on the matched symbols and while some of them can only cover the initial bet, others can easily make for a nice profit with one spin. Some of the most popular slots at Grande Vegas Casino are Cleopatra’s Gold, Builder Beaver, Lucky 8’s and Regal Riches. Table games also provide the chance to win big as blackjack comes with the best odds given good play and baccarat is very popular around the world. Of course the games with the biggest prizes are progressives and Grande Vegas Casino users can enjoy several with seven-figure jackpots.
The National Council on Problem Gaming is teaming up with Gambling Integrity Services to assist online gambling operators licensed in the USA to stay compliant with the previously established NCPG’s Internet Responsible Gambling Standards. Proactively Instilling Organisational Adherence and Compliance To carry out the agreement, NCPG has contracted with Gambling Integrity Services (GIS) to perform independent evaluations including mystery shopping by trained testers, for sites that specifically request assessment. Keith Whyte, the Executive Director of NCPG explained the purpose of the agreement, “We understand that many Internet gambling operators have responsible gaming policies in place that go beyond the state regulations. They will now have the opportunity to receive an independent assessment of their responsible gaming programs compared with NCPG’s Standards.” Operator Benefits This provides established operators the opportunity to take a proactive step in prioritizing player protection and showing their commitment to player security in a public that remains highly skeptical of gambling organizations to this day. Further benefits that sites that play ball will experience include a certificate for those complaint with a sufficient amount of criteria. The certification process will continue to be developed over the nest few months via work between NCPG and GIS. When it is perfected, a trial phase of implementation will be offered publicly, with initial compliance testing set to begin in the fall. GIS Founder Malcolm Bruce further expressed his pleasure, saying that the company is “delighted to be working with NCPG on this crucial initiative to check that legal online gambling operators are protecting players in accordance with the criteria that NCPG have established. State regulations often stipulate only the bare minimum levels of protection and operators have a lot to prove in this area if they want to succeed in expanding online gambling in the US.” In a market where expansion is essential and regulation is ubiquitous, the NCPG-GIS partnership gives global gambling operators a golden opportunity to prove their trustability and integrity to the public.

A Newsweek article has attacked online gambling. With a header reading, “How Washington Opened the Floodgates to Online Poker, Dealing Parents a Bad Hand,” the cover article (shown above) pictures a sad-faced young boy holding up a tablet displaying a poker hand, broken-hearted and inconsolable from his loss of innocence, robbed by online poker. Wire Act Criticised The piece criticises the Department of Justice’s (DoJ) Office of Legal Counsel and the legal opinion of employee Virginia Seitz, which led to reinterpretation of the Wire Act and as Newsweek claims “opened wide the door to online gambling, and … may have opened a Pandora’s box,” by offering so-called “slots for tots.” The upshoot is that the increasingly biased and overly dramatic Newsweek magazine ultimately contains many inaccuracies, one-sided views and oversimplifications of the complex gaming law which has enabled consideration of the reintroduction of gaming to the US population. Reporting Oversights The most egregious oversight is the failure by the writer to draw the distinction between regulated and unregulated online gambling in America, which is of course the crux of the legal basis for introduction of online gambling in a productive and socially as well as legally acceptable form. Silly and transparent scare tactic statements that overdramatize the situation are ones such as the following, “This is just the beginning,” (US Sen.) Chaffetz, who has called for a federal ban on online gambling, tells Goodman. “I am afraid that if we don’t move quickly and get some decent regulations in place, which we really don’t have right now, it will be too late to stop it from reaching all the states.” Online gambling of course cannot reach any states unless it is regulated; online gambling is only possible in three states right now - Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware - and all of these states have strict security, age and identity verification requirements which are first and foremost concerned with protecting minors and confirming users are of age to play. Sufficient regulation is in fact the biggest obstacle to legalizing online gambling in any state. Commenters Recognise the Ruse Ultimately, if one views the critical comments following the piece, the article really does fail to come across as impartial or accurate, reflecting more on Newsweek's feebleness of reportage than any actual evidence of genuine threat to our nation's youth.
The Latvian Department of Supervision of Lotteries and Games (IAUI) has granted more than 160 online gambling licenses to operators since 2011. In spite of the considerable influx, there is still a distinct lack of linguistic coverage for Latvian players. Big Brands Outlawed As of August 2014, the IAUI has collated a blacklist of unlicensed gambling operators continuing to provide services to Latvia residents. The most prominent names on the list include 888, bwin.party, bet365, Betfair, PokerStars, and William Hill. Overall, the list is a mix of casino and poker operators. More Names Coming At present, more than 20 prominent names currently feature on the list. The IAUI is said to have more operators in mind for a later expansion of the list. Latvia is not the first Eastern European country to fight back against unlicensed operators, with Russia and Bulgaria having already taken action. Financial Institutions Involved IAUI has added the operators to the list in line with the Gaming and Lottery Law 2006. Changes were made to the law in 201 to allow for internet service providers to block the activity of gaming operators. Financial institutions have also been drawn into the affair, with the Latvian government ordering them to block all transactions attempted between Latvian residents and offshore operators. Once a Haven Latvia was initially a haven for reserved for domestic online gambling operators. After first legalising online gambling in 2003, the market was later opened up to foreign entities in 2011, based on regulatory changes made by the European Union (EU). IAUI Sought ARJEL Advice Latvia appears resolute in its desire to restore to the exclusive conditions that once existed in the country. Prior to this latest action, IAUI leader Signe Birne spoke with his French counterpart from ARJEL to seek advice in dealing with unlicensed operators. A stern approach was likely recommended.

Claude G. from Rifle, Colorado, found himself waking up last Sunday morning from the noise his wife made when she was screaming "Oh my God!" repeatedly. The wife Jackie had a very good reason to do so, as she just found out her husband's Powerball lottery ticket won a $90 million jackpot. Largest Powerball Jackpot in Colorado A tow truck driver by profession, Claude said he thought he was dreaming when he realized that he had scooped the biggest jackpot ever won in Colorado's lottery history. Claude purchased the winning ticket at a Kum & Go convenience store in the small city of Rifle; he regularly purchases tickets to the two Powerball draws taking place weekly using the quick-pick option, and this time was no different. The winning numbers were 3, 12, 31, 34, 51 and the Powerball 24. Powerball Ticket Sales go down The $90 million jackpot comes in a trying time for the Powerball which reported that the lottery's ticket sales hit their lowest mark since the price for a single ticket was raised from $1 to $2 in January 2012. This info is tied with recent statistics made public by the US lottery showing that Americans aged between 24 and 34 are less likely to take part in draws. Online Lottery Might Change Picture One of the main reasons attributed to this loss of interest is the lack of a solid online lottery ticket purchasing infrastructure. In Europe and especially the UK, lottery is very popular with young people who mostly purchase their tickets online. Europeans even take part in US lotteries using online agents the likes of TheLotter and Ice Lotto. If only online lottery tickets pick up in the US, we could be seeing many more jackpot winners like the lucky Colorado tow truck driver.
Back in July, the Dutch Council of Ministers agreed in principle to apply a tax of 20% on all gross revenue generated by online gambling operators. Bas Jongmans, an attorney with Gaming Legal, has spoken out against the proposed tax, complaining that it will be approximately a third lower than tax incurred by land-based casinos. Gulf between Online and Offline Speaking in an August interview, Jongmans took the time to express his misgivings about the situation. At the heart of his argument is his belief that foreign operators have used their power to influence government in the Netherlands. Consequently, Jongmans believes that the tax gulf between online and offline will only punish Dutch land-based operators. Jongmans Representing Land-Based Casinos Jongmans was upfront in explaining how he had been representing a collective of land-based casino operators for a little over eight years. Jongmans openly believes that the Dutch government has discriminated against his clients by favouring online operators. He argued that the domestic investment made by land-based casinos deserves positive recognition and subsequent concessions. Everybody Unhappy Before the government announcement, Henrik Tjärnström, CEO of Unibet, had spoken of his hopes for a 10% tax to be applied to online operators. Tjärnström will have been disappointed to see the tax on gross revenue to be double what he desired. In stark contrast, Dutch operators are furious to see such a favourable rate going to their newest competitors. Future of the Bill At present, the bill is still waiting to be voted into law by parliament. There is still a chance for amendments to be made once the politicians have considered its components. Jongmans, however, doesn’t believe that the bill will change significantly. In spite of the appealing tax rate, Jongmans believes that the online market will have minimal appeal and that the land-based casinos will also suffer.
Sydney-based game design studio Royal Wins has released its ambitious and innovative social casino experience to a rousing public reception. Mojikan’s Kash Karnival garnered such a positive public response that it appears that the Royal Wins offering has fulfilled the role the next evolutionary experience the gaming industry has sought. R and D Yields New Model of Gaming Extensive research and testing in 2013 has brought about a shift for the company form the original social games focus to generate a new category of game integrating free play, ‘hybrid’ skill and casino social and wagering. After more than 6 months of development, Royal Wins CEO Robert Fong is confident the product will redefine the online casino gaming landscape: “We see ourselves as a high-end, high quality truly innovative studio, utilizing the very best of breed game engines and gaming technologies, to produce the very best 2D and 3D games of skill and chance.” Kash Karnival Model The Kash Karnival example of this new breed of game offers four initial games distributed evenly across skill and chance-based casino game categories, with all games employing various levels of skill and random number-generated (RNG) outcomes. Fong pointed out how the “hybrid” game version addresses the dual priorities of “new styles of game mechanics and skill-based elements” which rewards players for skill and also livens up what are otherwise historically bland traditional slots and casino games. Games are accessible via the “Royal Hub,” whose rich graphics immerse the user in royalty: players are addressed as “patrons,” and can interact with numerous avatar characters and features. The Royal Hub empowers players to explore a 'Skill District' or 'Adventure Casino' and taking players a cyberjourney complete with entertaining characters and stories. Players can further ascend the Royal Hierarchy progressing with skill and playtime to become members of the Royal Family, and eventually reach the status of Kash King or Kash Queen. The launch release of this new technological gaming evolution is currently available to one and all via Facebook.
