The former head of The National Coalition Against Legalized Gambling (NCALG) in Washington D.C., and now a party member, David Robertson explained some steps that were being taken to do away with the legalization of gambling .He said that one Methodist member and one Baptist member, who are among two of the main people who "run the show", have facilitated in putting together an all faith Southern movement, in order to influence voters in the state of Tennessee to snub an upcoming ballot regarding a state lottery issue. However, Mr. Robertson acknowledges the fact that at times pious prompted religious campaigns that are anti-gambling are likely to be given the boot. A number of years ago when the state lottery of Idaho was implemented, Mr. Robertson noted that when the public learned of the only Adversary being The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, their vote changed. Construction as planned will begin sometime in October and is expected to be finished by early 2004. The Oasis Hotel and Tower, in Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth, where construction is to take place, will go through a complete overhaul turning it into an amusement mall, a night club and restaurant, as well as a Vegas-looking casino. In July, The Atlantis Casino was also given the green light to build a $7million site. However, Cornshire, one of the constructors opposed to Atlantis's approved project, noted that in 1994 a comparable plan was introduced but was turned down since the plans included new arcades. In any case, the area is already home to two casinos, The Shadingfield Lodge in Marine Parade and King's Casino in Theatre Plain. Rodney Scott a savvy hotel entrepreneur, who coordinated and was behind the entire Atlantis project along with Colin Abbot an amusement park businessman , said, "The Atlantis Hotel and Casino will be the Golden Miles landmark building, providing a dazzling focal point for the UKs third biggest seaside resort." At this point in time, associates of Great Yarmouth Borough Council's expansion group, feel that the new project will do worlds of wonder for The Golden Mile.

The Bush Administration has made its decision on internet gambling. It finds internet casino gambling illegal according to a standing federal law. Dennis Neilander, chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, received the government's position from Assistant Attorney General, Michael Chertoff. The Wire Act of 196l is the law being focused on. Initially this act applied to illegal sports gambling. The Clinton administration's position also held firm on this issue. Therefore the hopes of Nevada to become the first state to conduct legal online gambling has been quelled.Since the act specifically refers to illegal sports gaming, the present decision is being challenged. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is going to reassess the "old" Wire Act, suggesting a chance for reversal.
