Canadiens vying for 3-0 series lead as Ottawa set for first home game, live at 00:00 (GMT).
The Montreal Canadiens look like they are the team to beat in the NHL 2015 playoffs. The Habs are already leading the Atlantic Division playoff 2-0 over the Ottawa Senators, as Game 3 set to face off tonight at midnight (UK time) at Canadian Tire Centre, the Sens home turf. Few teams were able to stop Montreal all season, as they finished with the second best win record in the entire NHL. Using their regular season momentum, Montreal has taken a stranglehold over their first playoff round at the expense of Ottawa and it doesn't look like the Senators can do much about it.
Senators Need a Win
One of the stats that is working in favor of the Senators tonight is the fact that Montreal didn't win in Ottawa in the two regular season games therein. The Senators are still confident that they can turn the series around but they are questioning whether or not a goalie change is needed for tonight’s game. "We played them well during the season. There's a couple of things we need to work on the past couple of games. We talked about it and we'll be better,” related Kyle Turris, Ottawa’s star Center. The Senators qualified for the playoffs after a mad dash winning 21 games and losing only 3. They made things hard on themselves but have been able to turn it around when push comes to shove.
Canadiens at Top of their Game
"There's no complacency out here just because we're up two. But we're definitely excited about the position we're in," said Montreal right wing Devante Smith-Pelly. They are definitely worried about the game in Ottawa tonight and they have actually lost eight of their last ten in the Canadian capital. Montreal is aware of the fact that the Senators are used to being the underdog and they will approach Ottawa with caution.
