U.S. Senator Jon Kyl, a long time opponent of the industry, also appeared on the show, outlining his reasons for seeking to have online gambling banned in the U.S. Kyl has been behind two failed attempts to have legislation against the industry passed by the U.S. Senate.
The program concluded with closing statements from SportingBet's Nigel Payne, who stated that U.S. authorities should regulate the industry to ensure that only socially responsible companies are able to operate in the market. Payne also pointed out that gambling has existed since the dawn of time. He believes that the responsible thing to do is to regulate it to gain greater control over it.
