Regulation of Italian e-gaming has been progressing at a rapid rate this year.

888, a giant in the world of online gaming, has announced that it has won certification to from Italian gaming regulatory authority AAMS to provide its products in the country.

With the certificate, 888 and the company's independent B2B division Dragonfish will be now be able to offer their leading gaming solutions to customers and affiliates in the Italian market in the coming months - one of the fastest-growing countries in Europe for the industry.

That offering includes Dragonfish's Total Gaming Services solution, which includes a turnkey gaming operator and their unique CasinoFlex product - which allows partners to benefit from a casino gaming suite and accompanying marketing tools.

Another step forward for Italian gaming

As we have seen with developments in the last few months, the introduction of another big company such as 888 into the Italian market is yet another step forward for the Italian e-gaming industry after its careful regulation over the past year or so.

Italy has proved miles ahead of its neighbors on the regulation front, becoming the first mainland European country to allow licensed private online gambling operators in a regulated environment at the beginning of 2011. In March the government further opened the market to allow operators to offer poker cash and online casino games.
