Online gambling giant reveals strong financial results for third quarter
The state of the online gambling industry is as strong as ever, as shown by leading operator 888 Holdings' strong financial results for the third quarter.
888 Keeps Growing
888 revealed a 7 percent year-on-year increase in revenue to $92 million in the third quarter. Group revenue reached $278 million in the first three quarters of 2012, an increase of 16% over the corresponding period the previous year.
Growth was spurred by a 24% increase in customer base to 12.5 million people. 888 Poker was the other big money earner, with revenue up 21% to $18 million in the third quarter, and the number of active poker players increasing by 14% to a healthy 349,000. Poker revenue was up 50% in the first nine months of the year.
