8th International Gaming Awards Support Ebola Fight

The 8th International Gaming Awards are getting ever closer. Read about the latest updates before the event on Monday 2 February.

Final preparations are underway for the 8th International Gaming Awards (IGA), an event that allows for gaming professionals to network and also celebrate the industry’s finest achievements. The upcoming event will be hosted on Monday, February 2, at the Savoy Hotel, London, where the likes of Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, and Sir Winston Churchill have all stayed as guests.

The prestigious hotel is situated on the banks of the River Thames and is ranked as a five-star venue by the Forbes Travel Guide. Guests will be won over by the opulent glamour of the Savoy, which has successfully transcended generations. To follow, there are still more updates to share ahead of IGA 2015.

Supporting Ebola Crisis

The Ebola crisis has tragically claimed the lives of many impoverish people living in West Africa. And while some have responded by providing aid, not enough has been done to help. Thankfully, a key element of the upcoming awards is to raise money to support the Ebola work of CARE International, a global aid agency.

At present, IGA is operating a Just Giving page via which people can make donations to support CARE International and the Ebola crisis. As of Monday 12 January, has raised more than £230,000 of the £500,000 target that has been set. The aim is to surpass that target by the day of the awards.

Auction of Cartier Jewellery

Entertainment is vital for any successful awards ceremony, which is why IGA 2015 will feature a lavish auction sponsored by online gambling operator Mr Green. During the auction, attendees will bid for a glittering selection of Cartier jewellery.

Along with Mr Green, there are many more star-studded names featuring as sponsors for IGA 2015, such as global poker operator PokerStars. Meanwhile, Playtech leads the software developers, with other important names including Yggdrasil, Bet Construct, and BetSoft.
