Some 500 million viewers will view world's greatest steeplechase tomorrow at the Aintree Racecourse at Liverpool (Saturday, 16:15 UK time).
Horse racing fans and punters from all over the world wait in anticipation for the Crabbie's Grand National horse race at the Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool (16:15 UK time) This is Europe's richest horse race, with a total cash purse of £1 million last year, which also makes it one of the world's most famous horse races, broadcast and watched live by millions. Saturday's chase is expected to attract some 500 million viewers.
Run over 4 miles and 3 and a half furlongs, the Grand National has horses jumping 30 fences in two circuits. The Grand National is far from being only about the huge purse, it's an epic struggle of man and beast which presents a unique challenge to the jockeys and their horses – truly only the best win here.
AP McCoy's Last Ride
The talk of this Grand National is famed nineteen-time champion jockey AP McCoy who is looking for another title before he hangs the racing shoes and retires. McCoy has already won the race in 2010, and he will look for another sweet victory tomorrow riding the eight year old Shutthefrontdoor trained by Jonjo O'Neill.
Shutthefrontdoor is the bookies' leading favorite - the horse finished 9 times in the first place in 14 lifetime jump races. Winner Sports, William Hill Sports and bet365 Sports all had Shutthefrontdoor at 7/1 to win.
Rocky Creek and Balthazar King
Alongside Shutthefrontdoor's domination there are two horses which share the second and third place at all bookies. Last year's runner-up Balthazar King, trained by Philip Hobbs, has been given 9/1 odds at Hill and Winner, 10/1 at bet365. He will be ridden by jockey Richard Johnson. The 11-year old has won three races in 2014, his only runners-up race being last year's Grand National when he finished second to Pineau de Re.
Rocky Creek is another big bet for tomorrow, favored by punters. The fact that he is trained by Paul Nicholls helps his odds, also his January win in the BetBright Chase at Kempton Park. Winner, Hill and bet365 all had Rocky Creek at 9/1. But these are just the three top favorites - there's a maximum of 40 horses running this chase and surprises are possible. Look out for these names alongside the favorites: Night in Milan, The Druids Nephew, Soll, Alvarado and last year's winner Pineau de Re.
Huge Online Betting Event
The Grand National is a huge betting event that attracts ridiculous amounts of wagers including online gambling. The race will be broadcast and available at William Hill Sports, Winner Sports and bet365 Sports, all having special offers for punters like price promise and best odds guaranteed. Don't miss this day at the races, it presents big winning opportunities and it's going to be a spectacle to watch.
