Arsenal Welcomes Chelsea at Emirates Stadium for the Derby of London

Chelsea seeks redemption by claiming a rare victory on the road against city rivals (7:45 p.m UK Time).

A few years ago, a match between Chelsea and Arsenal had the potential of deciding the next Premier League winner. This is only partially true this time, because Chelsea is out of contention and Arsenal is in dire need of points to keep its trophy being alive. The Gunners are tied for the lead with Leicester and Manchester City is just one point behind, so they can’t settle for one point in the Derby of London.

Identical Results in 2016

Mourinho was finally sacked and the new manager knew that in order to avoid his fate, he had to put an end to the losing streak. Hiddink did exactly that and Chelsea started to pick up points both at home and on the road. Unfortunately for the reigning champions, most of the games ended undecided and in 2016, they only managed to win the first two games before splitting points in the next two.

Arsenal did exactly that and while both teams qualified to the next stage of the FA cup, they fell short of meeting their Premier League ambitions. Chelsea is still chasing the elusive Champions League berth, but Arsenal is very much alive in the race for the trophy and it can’t afford to drop points at home.

A Shrinking Injury List

Chelsea only misses two players ahead of this fixture, both of them being long-term absentees, so their absence will go unnoticed. By comparison, Arsenal will be playing without five players, but they are quite used to the situation, as their injury list used to include eight players or more.

Alexis Sanchez is back in the starting rotation and his offensive contribution is essential when Arsenal takes on another Premier League giant. The home side will come out guns blazing and will play offensive football for 90 minutes, because they are in dire need of points. Bet365 offers even odds on this outcome and given their stellar performance at home this season, it is worth backing them at full stakes.
