The second edition of GBH shows empowered all attendees to be prepared for the opportunities of the incoming global battery boom.

A new perspective on the incoming battery boom emanating from within the Asian battery market was unveiled at Guangzhou’s China Import and Export Fair Complex last August 16-18th.

New Era

The 2nd Asia (Guangzhou) Batter Sourcing Fair GBF returned with a splash with 237 exhibitors representing a massive jump of 54.9% from last year, with all visitors to the 15,000 square foot, 700 booth exhibition centre positively blown away!

Leading Theme

The key category of Overseas Brand Representations hosted wonderful breakthroughs from emerging Asian battery brand names representing all areas of the globe including DHS Instruments, Mikrouna, O-PA and Hesse from Germany; TANAKA Electronics, Zeon, ULVAC from Japan; EV Meter, Keysight and Pleiades from the US, and XYREX NANO from Korea among others.

High Level Networking

New cooperation and networking between buyers from Europe and Southeast Asia led to high volume sales, with huge transactions processed by world-leading battery enterprises Microsoft, LG Chem, Roadmasters, Chrysler, Jaguar Land Rover, Tesla Labs, and more.

Government Representation and Cooperation

In the infrastructure sector, new energy related Government Agencies of Nigeria, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and were on hand seeking partners for a wide range of respective national projects, most noticeably a buyer group of 55 delegates organized by the Federation of Indian Small Scale Battery Associations (FISSBA).

Growing Demand

The most sought after products and services identified by promoters at the site was High-Performance EV Batteries. A.T. Kearney research estimating that China’s new energy vehicle installation base will touch 5 million by the year 2020, representing 71% of the world experiencing strong demand for EV batteries across the globe.

Concurrent Conference

The festivities were enhanced by the Asia Power Battery& Energy Storage Conference held concurrently within GBH.

Hot Topics

Hot issues addressed included power battery technology and smart manufacturing, power battery battery application and BMS battery management system, energy storage system, technology and engineering application.

The list of 20 acclaimed speakers included Hong Leijun, Vice Secretary General at Hubei Automotive Engineering Society, HBSAE; Tang Weping, Assistant Chief Engineer at Shanghai Institute of Space Power-Sources; and Yuan Fang, Head of BMS Development Department of Tochigi Research Centre of Keihin.

Summary

We are relying on batteries all the time. GBF 2017 was a wonderful way to seize the business opportunities that all that demand creates!
