About Oz Lotto
Running since 2004, Oz lotto was the first truly national lottery in Australia. With tickets priced at AU$1.10. plus agents fees, the jackpot is won by matching 7 numbers out of 45 with the draw that takes place every Tuesday. Seven main numbers, and two supplementary ones are drawn, with odds of 45,379,620 for matching all 7, and 3,241,401 for matching 6 plus a supplementary ball. The guaranteed prize pool is AU$2 million, and there are a total of 7 'divisions' that can win a prize.
The most common prize is for matching any 3 numbers, plus one or both of the supplementary ones, with a 1 in 87 chance of a ticket achieving this. Players typically buy into several games at once, with up to 50 being available when purchased online, although should anyone wish to play just one game, with 7 numbers, they are still in with a chance of the main jackpot.
Oz Lotto is run by the state of New South Wales, and administered by Tattersalls. As well as this draw, there are others such as the Saturday Lotto, Powerball, Lotto Strike and instant win scratchcards run by the same group.
