Audley Harrison Joins Full Tilt Poker

European heavyweight champ signs sponsorship deal with online poker room, Full Tilt Poker.

Under the terms of the recently announced partnership, former Olympic gold medalist, Audley Harrison, will represent Full Tilt Poker on the internet and in a number of land-based tournaments. Such a deal will certainly help Full Tilt Poker hold its ground as the fastest growing online poker room.

Harrison will balance his new commitments with his boxing career and faces fellow British boxer, David Haye, this month for the World Boxing Association's title.

Annals of Sponsorship

Apparently the sponsorship is the result of a random meeting in 2009 with Eddie Hearn, a promoter at Matchroom Sport, who helped Audley to seal the deal with Full Tilt Poker. The pair was seated next to one another in the Main Event of the WSOP.

Audley fell in love with the game of poker while living in Las Vegas and learnt from some of the best pros in the industry. As a result his poker career history is not too shabby with runner's-up finish at the Bellagio Cup and a third place ending at the Venetian Deep Stack.

Love of the Game

By all accounts, Audley is looking forward to representing Full Tilt Poker both on the tables and in the ring.
