Bader Trades Paysafecard for Secure Trading

Jens Barder, Paysafecard's former CCO, has left the company to join rival payments supplier Secure Trading. He will supervise Secure Trading's whole commercial function as that firm pushes on with global expansion.

Same Role, Different Company

It is expected that Barder will undertake a very similar one to that which he performed at Paysafecard, since October 2010. He was responsible for the company's commercial strategy and goes to fill a very similar role at Secure Trading, just as it begins to plot a European and US expansion of its operations. He will also assume responsibility for sales and marketing for the firm, with a new end-to-end payments product aimed specifically at the US real-money e-gaming market in the pipeline.

Kicking On

Bader sees a huge amount of potential in Secure Trading. He said that it has been in existence for more than 15 years, but despite its "solid technology" and "very strong business" was considered a bit "under the radar". He emphasized that they have developed many new platforms over the last 3 years and now he had an opportunity to build (if not quite from the ground up), but an organization around that. Secure Trading is anticipating a recruitment kick, augmenting a handful of people in its Malta office to around 35 permanent staff, hiring around 30 employees for its London HQ and potentially a small team of up to five to work out of Chicago.

Change at the Top

Playsafecard has undergone some important personnel changes in the last month or so. In addition to the exit of Barder, Michael Mueller, Paysafecard's co-founder stepped down in his role as CEO (in which he will be replaced by Udo Mueller) and resigned from the company's board of directors.
