Baseball Betting: MLB World Series Game 2 Preview

Washington Nationals vs. Houston Astros in the 2019 MLB World Series Championship. Game 2 tonight at 1:00 GMT.

The Fall Classic is in full swing after an electrifying Game 1 saw the underdog Washington Nationals beat the Houston Astros 5-4. This was the very first time in history that the Nationals have won a game in a World Series. Houston was playing at home and are heavy favorites to win the Series, but Washington shocked critics and have left a big question mark on how this will go.

The Astros are going for their second World Series in three seasons. They led the MLB this year in wins and showed just what an incredible team they are for the entirety of the season. There were few signs of weakness, but, as we saw last night, the Nationals will not go down without a fight.

The Nationals are on track to complete one of the craziest comebacks in baseball, as they would be only the fourth team in MLB history to make it the World Series after being at 12 games under .500 during the regular season. "I truly believe that these guys are fired up to be here," Nationals manager Dave Martinez related. "We played a lot of unbelievable games this year. We've come a long way."

Game 2 will begin tonight at 1:00 GMT at Minute Maid Park in Houston Texas. The Nationals were able to win Game 1 thanks to consistent hitting. The Astros sent their Ace Gerrit Cole to the mound who ultimately suffered his first loss in five months. All in all an incredible 19 straight wins for Cole until last night. The Nationals were able to score all five of their runs, including two home runs off of Cole, who seemed a bit off his legendary form.
