Andy Murray vs Gilles Simon, as they face off in the quarter final of the World Cup of Tennis today at 12:30 UK time.
Andy Murray is once again representing Great Britain in the Davis Cup and he has brought his nation to a level status at 1-1. The Quarter Finals are now within their reach and a win tonight against French hopeful Gilles Simon.
In the previous match, Murray beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-5, 7-6 (12-10) and 6-2 at the Queen's Club. For Simon, he beat James Ward 6-4, 6-4, 6-1 in his opening match on Friday.
Murray should be used to representing his country after doing it for so many years but he is always weary of his competition, "There is always extra pressure, extra nerves. The one thing about Davis Cup is, if you lose, you still have the opportunity to come back the next day and win. But the pressure of playing for your country is obviously different. I've always enjoyed it."
If the British can hang on to the team event and squeeze through to the Semi Finals, they will face either Australia or Khazakstan in the event on the 18-20 of September and will have a great chance of reaching the final in November.
French Captain Arnaud Clement is confident about his countries' chances of making the Semi Finals, knowing that they have won the competition nine times, but, so have the Brits. France was in the Finals last year but lost to the Swiss. If the French can hold on, they will have made the Semi Finals five times in a row.
