Bet Live: England v. Australia 2nd Ashes TestPublished July 18, 2013 by OCR Editor
Second Ashes Test between England and Australia starts today at Lord's.
More controversy has befallen the Australian team since they fell just 14 runs short of defeating England in the First Test in the 2013 Ashes Series last week: sacked former coach Mickey Arthur alleged in legal documents that captain Michael Clarke called vice-captain Shane Watson a cancer.
On the field, too, Australia is undergoing some sort of upheaval. The tourists have dropped Ed Cowan and Mitchell Starc from the first XI and replace them with middle-order batsman Usman Khawaja and injury-prone fast bowler Ryan Harris.
England predictably stuck with their winning 13-man squad for the Second Test, although captain Alistair Cook and coach Andy Flower will need to make a last-minute decision on whether to give third seamer Steve Finn a reprieve or replace him in the starting side with backups Tim Bresnan or Graham Onions. Bresnan appears likely to get the go-ahead.
Bet365 Sports has gone cricket-crazy this summer, launching a massive amount of betting options on the 2013 Ashes. Punters can place pre-match bets on 25 separate Second Test markets including match winner or top batsmen and bowlers. There are 16 series markets, including series winner specials, and top batsman and bowler from each team.
Leading into the Second Test, bet365 has England as 10/11 favorite, Australia at 3/1 and a draw paying 13/5. In betting on the Ashes series winner, the online sportsbook was offering the following in the leadup to the 2 nd Test: England 2/9, Australia 9/1, draw (and England retain trophy) 15/2.
Bet365 is offering Ashes live betting throughout the entire series. No matter whether the 2 nd Test lasts three days, four days or five days, the online sportsbook will be there the entire way, allowing you to place an in-play wager on match result and other scenarios.
