Boxing Day has arrived and it will be truly celebrated as the annual William Hill King George VI Chase takes place at Kempton. The favorite 8 year old Long Run will seek to gain his third King George VI Chase title. Last year's Boxing Day saw a very close race which came to a thrilling finish when Long Run beat his rival Captain Chris by a neck on the line. Sadly, today the Captain will not attend the race to a leg injury.

However there are other favorites for this race like the 8 year old Al Ferof, with his Paddy Power Gold Cup win last year and his win last month in November at the Amlin 1965 Chase. Other competitors include the first three finalists of last month's Betfair Chase, Cue Card (1 st ) Dynaste (2 nd ) and Silviniaco Conti (3 rd ). Long Run finished the chase only in the 4 th position. Cue Card was threatened by Dynaste in the Betfair chase but he went on to win by four and half lengths.
