Bet Live on the Premier League: Everton vs. ArsenalPublished August 23, 2014 by Amir G
Everton hosts Arsenal for the Premier League's second gameweek at 5:30pm GMT.
The second week of the Premier League gets underway today with an interesting meeting between Everton and Arsenal at Goodison Park (5:30pm UK time). Last season when Arsenal visited Goodison Park the final result was 3-0 in favor of the hosts.
Everton failed to get the edge in their season opener away at against last Leicester in a game that ended 2-2. Everton was leading 1-2 when Leicester's Chris Wood managed to score a late equaliser in the 86th minute. Coach Roberto Martinez was aiming to bring Everton closer to the top four this season but grim news struck when key midfielder Ross Barkley suffered a knee injury which could see him out for two months. Romelu Lukaku is expected to start today and he will be a piece of work for Arsenal's defenders.
Arsenal is currently positioned third in the table with 3 points after beating Crystal Palace at the Emirates last Saturday with a stoppage time goal by Aaron Ramsey. Crystal Palace gave a good game and troubled Arsenal especially in the first half, but that is not to say that Arsenal cannot step up their game today and take the three points.
Ramsey is Arsenal's key player for today's fixture with Mesut Ozil still in doubt. Ramsey will have Sanchez on the right wing with Giroud as a lone striker. This fixture won't be easy on any of the sides, but Arsenal's got the upper hand on possession with great passers and that might turn the game in their favor.
