Bet Live: Tour de France Stage 16Published July 16, 2013 by OCR Editor
Riders return from rest day for start of third and final week.
With a valuable rest day behind them, the Tour de France riders get back on their bikes in Vaison-la-Romaine in the Provence region Tuesday for the beginning of the third and final week of racing. They have six more stages to complete before reaching the Champs Elysees on Sunday.
British rider Chris Froome virtually sealed victory in the 2013 Tour with a commanding performance in the mountains just before yesterday's break. While there won't be many opportunities for his rivals to catch him, there are still plenty of stages and teams battles to keep things interesting.
Today's medium-mountain stage begins with a 145 ride from Vaison to the town of Gap at the foothills of the French Alps. The stage will finish with a 23km ride up the Col de Manse before descending back to the finish line in Gap.
Bet365 Sports is offering the following odds on Stage 16: Runaway Points Classification leader Peter Sagan is 7/2, ahead of Sylvain Chavanel 10/1, Phillipe Gilbert 11/1, Thomas Voeckler 13/1, Alejandro Valverde 20/1, all others 22/1 or over (including Froome, who is 100/1 to win the stage).
The online sportsbook also has pre-race odds on the following scenarios: Tour de France outright (Froome 1/16), Points Classification, King of the Mountains, Podium Finish, Team Classification, Young Rider Classification, General Classification (without Froome) and Stage 16 Match-ups (pits selected riders head-to-head).
