The UK is soon to welcome its first Online Gaming Casino Billionaire, Peter Coates.
The United Kingdom is soon to welcome its newest Billionaire, and it happens to be the founder of Bet365 online gaming casino. Peter Coates, 75, his daughter Denise, 45, and son John, 43, are now worth an estimated £925 million - just 13 years after they launched the firm.
Not a bad investment.
Origins
Bet365 was founded in 2000 in a ramshackle building in Stoke-on-Trent by Mr. Coates who developed a sports betting platform and trading team to launch the business online in March 2001. Since then Bet365 has grown into one of the world's largest online gaming companies with its reported figures showing amounts wagered on sports at £12.2 billion, revenues of £646 million and an operating profit of £116.5 million, whilst paying £130 million in tax to the UK Government.
And now, in something resembling an almost fairy tale existence, Coates and his family are set to be the UK's first gambling billionaires.
Bet365 Stats
Bet365's site is available in seventeen different languages and supports a variety of payment methods including credit/debit cards and much more. Bet365 offers sports betting, poker, casino, games, and bingo, as well as video streams on sporting events. Bet365 also offers an on-course bookmaking service.
This place has it all.
It also turns out that Britain's top ten internet betting magnates are each valued at more than £100 million, according to the Sunday Times Rich List, and Bet365 is now worth about £800 million.
Other assets owned by the family include Premier League football club Stoke City.
