Online gambling operator ceases customer acquisitions in number of markets.
Betfair, one of Europe's leading online gambling operators, has made some further changes to its legal structure at the beginning of 2013, with its decision to cease new customer acquisition in a number of markets.
Who is affected?
Following its decision last year to withdraw from some international markets, for legal reasons, Betfair ceased new customer acquisition in a number of markets. The countries that are affected are: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Finland, Norway, Canada, and Greece.
From January 1, new customer activations from these countries will not trigger affiliate CPA payments and Betfair will not make revenue share payments on new customer activations after that date. Betfair will honour payments to existing customers with partner revenue share agreements.
Good news for players
The good news for players around the world is that Betfair plans to continue investing in growing regulated and sustainable markets, both in Europe - where the legal framework is constantly in development - and throughout the rest of the world, where online betting, poker and casinos are flourishing.
European players can still access Betfair's multi-platform gambling offering. The operator's casino and betting sites are compatible with a number of languages, and enable a multitude of payment options - including specialized local methods for customers in different EU countries.
