Betway Now Providing eSports Betting Following ESL UK Deal

Betway has integrated eSports betting within its wider offering following a partnership with a leading organisation in the form of the ESL UK Premiership.

Major computer games now have superior earning potential to movies, given how releases for games, such as Grand Theft Auto, can potentially earn $1 billion in just a couple of days. Given the rising popularity of computer games, US TV networks like ESPN have already begun covering eSports, which can also be described as competitive video games. And the latest brand to enter the eSports fold is gambling operator Betway.

Betway has struck an exciting new partnership to start covering the ESL UK Premiership, an eSports organisation that hosts special tournaments for games like Counter-Strike: GO and League of Legends. From now on, registered users of Betway will have the ability to bet on a wide range of markets associated with the ESL UK Premiership’s latest eSports tournaments.

Ahead of the Game

Compared to other online gambling operators, Betway is riding the crest of the wave when it comes to eSports. This strategic addition follows in the steps of bet365 Sports and Winner Sports, both of which have offered eSports betting for some weeks now. Betway has quickly identified the potential of eSports and is making every effort to become a key presence in the market.

Betway has already integrated eSports betting markets within its wider sports platform, allowing for users to place bets from October 2015 onwards. Great lengths have been made to ensure that Betway offers sweeping coverage. For example, Betway users will even be able to find in-play betting markets, a feature more commonly associated with football betting.

ESL UK community manager Peter Mather spoke of how fans of eSports will have a “tried and trusted” betting platform in Betway. This announcement will likely appeal to fans, as competition is currently underway for ESL UK players to qualify for a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament that has been scheduled to begin on Saturday 24 October.
