bgo Plans Paris Hilton UK TV Ad Campaign

bgo has invested heavily in advertising since first launching as a multichannel online gambling operator in 2012. The UK has long been targeted as a key market for the brand.

UK TV viewers are likely to be familiar with the various adverts featuring small actor Verne Troyer, who is known for playing Mini Me in the Austin Powers movies. Troyer plays the boss of bgo in his adverts, and next he will partner with Paris Hilton for a new campaign planned for May 2015.

Paris Hilton is famous for being a socialite and heiress to the world-famous Hilton Hotels. She will add a touch of star power to a cast that will include Troyer and Dan Bilzerian, a professional poker player, investor, and all-round wild man. bgo appears to be valuing notoriety for its TV ad campaigns.

bgo cofounder Richard Skelhorn said that “there is no bigger celebrity in gaming” when describing Paris Hilton, also adding that he has “always wanted to work with her”. The script has already been written ahead of the ad’s filming, which will take place at the W Hotel in Los Angeles.

Targeting Female Players

Skelhorn hopes that the involvement of Paris will enable bgo to “build upon our female player base, in particular”. Attracting female players is a challenge for many online gambling operators, so time will tell as to whether Paris Hilton can help bgo. The socialite is rarely described as a role model among women.

Setting her female popularity aside, bgo will also be trying to tap into the 21 million fans that Paris Hilton has across her Twitter and Facebook pages. A few tweets and posts of the video will help to increase YouTube views and increase awareness. Paris has spoken of her excitement in the media, particularly the opportunity to work with Verne Troyer.
