BiG Sports Dinner to Take Place Wednesday

This Wednesday, September 10th sees the convergence of the BiG Sports Dinner, a UK charity event which will see attendance of entertainment and sporting celebrities as well as key individuals in the gaming industry. Software developer Microgaming serves as the headline sponsor for the event.

Awards, Shows and Q&A Sessions

The Big Sports Dinner will take place in the five star Dorchester Hotel in London, overlooking Hyde Park and not far from Piccadilly & Marble Arch. The evening will be hosted by former rugby player Austin Healey who has become a TV darling after his retirement, known to Brits from many shows including BBC's "Strictly Come Dancing" celeb-dancing talent show where he finished in the fourth position.

An interesting Q&A will be held with former footballer and manager John Charles Bryan Barnes MBE. Barnes was a long-time Liverpool player and is regarded one of the club's favorite players by fans; Barnes also wore the national jersey, known for his rap part in New Order's "World in Motion" song for England's 1990 World Cup campaign.

The guests will enjoy a magic show held by street illusionist Steven McGuinness, an auction and the presentation of two industry awards: "The Best Sports Betting Campaign" and "The Best Use of a Sporting Star in a Betting Campaign".

Fund Raising for Charity

The event is organized and put into motion by the BiG Foundation, a charity foundation established in 2013 by Richard Hogg and David Dixon. The foundation is dedicated to helping the injured, sick and terminally ill with a focus on the potential healing power of sports. This help is carried out with the funds raised by BiG, and the sports dinner is a major event for both raising funds and to broaden awareness about those in society who are in need of help.
