Online gaming brand to cover Asian basketball championships over next 10 days.
Bodog Asia, a leading online gaming brand, will be sponsoring the entire 2013 FIBA Asian Basketball Championships in Manila from August 1-11, under a major six-figure sponsorship deal.
Big Sponsorship Deal
Under the deal, Bodog Asia name will appear on perimeter boards and in-stadium LED advertising during the entire tournament. The company's famous "ambassadorettes" will appear both inside and outside the stadia during games, ensuring a complete party atmosphere.
With TV audiences throughout Asia expected to reach over 100 million during the tournament, this is one of the biggest events Bodog Asia could have hoped to sponsor. As their marketing director pointed out, the games are right on their doorstep in Manila and offer huge numbers, making the sponsorship "an easy decision for us."
FIBA Asia Championship
The 2013 FIBA Asia Championship is the intercontinental championship for Asia, and also acts as the qualifying event for the 2014 World Cup in Spain. The top three teams from this championship will head to Spain next year to play against the world's best basketball countries.
This year's tournament was originally supposed to be held in Beirut, Lebanon, but the hosting rights were transferred to the Philippines because of concerns over the impact of the Syrian Civil War on neighboring Lebanon and security concerns over the Middle East in general.
