Bournemouth vs Arsenal: Premier League Match Preview

Sol FH. - January 3, 2017

The Cherries take on the Gunners tonight at 19:45 GMT and both teams in need of a win.

Vitality Stadium comes alive tonight as the Gunners are in town to face-off against Bournemouth in the Premier League match of the night. Arsenal are currently in fourth place in the league with 40 points, just nine points off league leaders Chelsea. Arsene Wenger's men are currently on a 3-match win streak and the last time they faced Bournemouth back on the 27 of November, the Gunners crushed the Cherries 3-1.

Now Bournemouth's chances are not that great and it will definitely be harder to win without Jack Wilshere on board, ineligible for tonight against his parent club. Good news is that Striker Benik Afobe is in action as he decided not to play for Congo in their Africa Cup of Nations tournament. For Arsenal, Mesut Ozil could be out due to illness and unlike Afobe, Mohamed Eleny opted to go play for his home country at the tournament in Africa. The Gunners could also be without Theo Walcott and Kieran Gibbs due to injury.

Arsenal, in their last three Premier League matches against Bournemouth have scored ten goals and allowed just one. Bournemouth are improving in the league with five home matches won this season, which matches the entire win record of their premier year. They have been able to score in all but one of their nine home matches this year, but against a team like Arsenal they could be held scoreless.
