Bulls Eye: Professional Darts World Match Play Continues
Published July 21, 2014 by Sol FH
The PDC World Match Play Tournament gets throwing at 21:00 (UK time) and all eyes will be on Blackpool.
Adrian Lewis was last year’s World Match-play runner-up and is ready to improve on that finish beginning tonight in the first round of the PDC World Match Play Tournament. Lewis faces a first-timer in Andrew Gilding, making his debut appearance tonight at Winter Gardens in front of what should be a packed house.
Lewis is currently ranked number 3 in the world and is the overwhelming favorite for the match. Although Gilding is relatively unknown, he has played strongly in previous matches this year and comes into tonight’s tournament ranked 47th with the odds stacked against him.
Coming off a huge loss at the World Championships at the hands of world number 1 Michael van Gerwen in the semifinals, Lewis found success as he won the UK Open earlier this year. There is no doubt that Lewis deserves his top three ranking and will be a tough competitor for Gilding.
Live In-Play
Bet365 Sports, the famed UK sportsbook, is providing Live In-Play coverage over the PDC World Match-play tournament and have posted a number of lines for tonight. Lewis is the outright favorite to take the win at 1.14 to Gilding’s 5.50. Other pre-match lines include Correct Leg Score, Most 180’s, Handicap 2-way and much more.
Throughout the match punters have the option of making things a bit more interactive and therefore interesting by using bet365’s Live In-Play markets in which live bets pop up as the match is played. This makes way for the opportunity to capitalize on both players in real-time.
Tune in to the surgical accuracy that can only found in the world of professional darts. These two mean business and are out to prove who is best. Don’t miss out tonight at 21:00 as Lewis and Gilding take aim at Winter Gardens.
