Caesars Interactive Entertainment has signed a partnership deal with American National Hockey League team New York Rangers.
The American National Hockey League team New York Rangers has signed an online partnership with Caesars Interactive Entertainment's online poker brand World Series of Poker (operator of WSOP.com). The partnership will bring a full presence of Caesars Interactive Entertainment's online gaming websites in the New York Rangers' home games in Madison Square Garden. The scoreboard GardenVision and LED ribbon boards will be branded as well as the team's website and database marketing.
Commenting on the partnership, vice president of marketing and brand at Caesars Michael Staskin said that the company is looking forward "to being part of the stretch run and educating tri-state area Rangers fans on this exciting new offering available to both residents and visitors in New Jersey." Dave Howard, president of Madison Square Garden Sports, also commented on the partnership, saying: "We are excited to have the Rangers partner with this brand new category and industry leader WSOP.com to provide our passionate and loyal fans the opportunity to win some very unique experiences and prizes."
To mark the partnership, all New Jersey players who made a deposit on WSOP.com were entered into a special draw consisting of prizes like match tickets, authentic New York Rangers jerseys and even a home visit by the team's past players.
Partnerships in the Regulating US Market
This partnership makes Caesars Interactive Entertainment the second company to strike a partnership with a professional sports team in since the state of New Jersey started regulating online gambling last November. The first company to strike a groundbreaking partnership was Partypoker which signed a partnership with the NHL's New Jersey Devils and the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers earlier this year.
