Capital One Cup Semi Final Leg 1: Stoke vs. Liverpool

It should be an action packed evening of soccer, as Liverpool make the trip to Britannia Stadium to face Stoke City in the first leg of the Capital One Cup Semi Final. Both teams have been having an inconsistent Premier League season so far with only a single point separating them with Liverpool in 8^th with 30 and Stoke in 10^th with 29. The Reds were able to beat Stoke on the opening weekend of the regular season under Brendan Rodgers but that was only their third win in nine matches at Stoke.

Even with a terrible opening to the season, with Stoke going six matches without a win, they have won 11 of their last 17 and are looking in better form under Mark Hughes.

The last quarter of 2015 was a tough time for Liverpool until they hammered Southampton in the quarter-final 6-1 to move on to tonight's Semi Final. Liverpool is simply not scoring enough goals, recording their worst ever total in history, scoring 22 in 20 games. This is due to the fact that they only have one fit striker in Christian Benteke, whom is still not finding his groove.

It will undoubtedly be an interesting match tonight as both teams will be firing all guns to get the early lead and win the first leg. Liverpool are the favorites to win, but the odds are tight and a draw could be the best bet.
