Generally Accepted Practices (eGAPs) provide guidance for accredited online gambling sites.
The times they are a-changin', and eCOGRA is on top of it, folks.
The independent player protection and standards body eCOGRA has revised its Generally Accepted Practices (eGAPs) and published the new version on its website. eGAPs provide a professional framework for safe, fair, efficient and responsible business activity for online gambling sites. All eCOGRA accredited sites are in essence guided by the eGAPs.
The new version now meets common regulatory trends, namely nine key European criteria for operators, covered by the CEN Workshop Measures:
CEN helps manage a single market - in this case online gambling - within the EU. They are standard setters, which eCOGRA now fully complies with.
They were not, however, adopted as is. The recommendations were discussed and agreed upon by players and casino owners, experts on problem gambling and criminology academics, in all showing us that the online gambling can act responsibly, as one, for the better of the entire community.
