Celtics, Lakers, Even in NBA Finals OddsPublished June 15, 2010 by OCR Editor
Boston leads series 3-2 as teams head to LA for game six.
One win is all that separates the Boston Celtics from a record 18th NBA championship, after they clinched game 5 to go 3-2 up in the best-of seven NBA finals series against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers will host game six and game seven if it gets to that, so it is fitting that they are tied with the Celtics at 10/11 to win the series in the odds being quoted by William Hill Sports.
Los Angeles is 1/3 to win game six and force the series into a seventh game, while the Celtics are an outside 5/2 to win that game and prevent the league from its dream do-or-die encounter between the NBA's two most famous clubs.
The series was already a dream of sorts for league officials despite the Celtics knocking out the Eastern Conference's best team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and its star player Lebron James in the second round of the playoffs.
Find out where to bet on Lebron James' next destination as he enteres free agency July 1.
The Celtics and Lakers have won 32 championships between them (Celtics 17, Lakers 15), more than half of all NBA championships won, and have faced off 11 times previously in the NBA finals.
Another Boston win would continue the lopsided statistics in the finals - the Celtics have won nine of 11 finals series against the Lakers, including the last series between the two in 2008.
