Champions League Match Preview: Chelsea vs Roma

The Blues are at Stamford Bridge tonight for the first game against Roma since the 2008/09 Champions League. During that year, both teams won their respective home games, which would be a fairly good prediction of what will probably happen this year. Tonight will be the first of two with the next match on the 31st of the month at Roma. 

Chelsea currently leads Group C, after beating both Atletico Madrid and Qarabag in their first two matches. Roma was held to a scoreless draw against Atletico in the first round and they are two points behind the Blues. Chelsea has won their group in the last three straight appearances, and eleven times overall. 

The biggest thing on the minds of Chelsea supporters will be if Antonio Conte has a big enough squad to deal with any additional potential injuries that may occur tonight. Alvaro Morata is back in the lineup after missing the weekend's tough loss to last place Crystal Palace in the Premier League, but he is also missing N'Golo Kante and Victor Moses to hamstring injuries.

Roma may have a healthier squad, but they are also coming off a tough loss to Serie A leaders Napoli over the weekend. Chelsea does have an advantage though. Playing at Stamford Bridge will be extremely hard for Roma and the Blues should walk away with a 3-1 win.
