The second leg of the round 16 match-up between Monaco vs Man City tonight at 19:45 GMT.
The final two matches of the round of 16 begin tonight at 19:45 GMT between Monaco and Man. City and Atletico Madrid vs Bayer. The big story here tonight will be if Monaco can stun Man. City at Stade Louis II and advance to the quarterfinal. After the first leg comeback by City, ending a match that seemed to be in Monaco's hands at the Emirates two weeks ago, but were not able to hold on to the win.
Pep Guardiola will not take a defensive approach to this second leg and will have his team playing to win. Monaco are a goal-scoring team, with 123 goals across all competitions this season, and they proved that they have what it takes to be in these later stages of the competition. "The best way [to defend] is score goals," related Guardiola. "When one team scores many goals and you think about just defending, you kill yourself. The idea is to try and attack. "We scored five goals when it's not easy to score against them. What you have to do is go to score goals," he continued
City will be without Striker Gabriel Jesus and Midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. They are hoping that Vincent Kompany will be back to play in his second match since November.
Monaco are out to win and manager Leonardo Jardim is shooting for three goals. If they can score 2 and keep a clean sheet the will advance, but achieving this feat will be incredibly hard against City, no matter if the game is in Monaco. City have not ever lost to a French side in European competition, but Monaco have won each of their three knockout matches in the Champions League against English teams.
