Champions League Quarterfinals: Second Leg Preview

The second leg matches of the Champions League Quarterfinals continue today at 20:00 GMT.

The second leg matches of the Champions League are about to kick off and if this leg is anything like the first, we should be in for wild midweek action. Real Madrid was able to win despite the key defensive absences of Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane, leaving Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool with a 3-1 loss. Paris Saint-Germain shocked Bayern Munich while getting their revenge for last season's 1-0 defeat in the final. Manchester City won a close match against Borussia Dortmund, while the Blues won comfortably against FC Porto.

PSG vs. Bayern Munich, Tuesday at 20:00 GMT

Losing is a rarity for Bayern Munich. When they are losing, they play relentlessly, and that is what we should expect to see from Bayern tonight. In the first leg, Bayern showed this relentlessness with Eric Choupo-Moting, Thomas Muller, and David Alaba with five shots each. Kingsley Coman had four, Benjamin Pavard and Leon Goretzka both had three, all in a little over 30 minutes. Midfielder Joshua Kimmich was incredible and created 10 chances for his teammates.

PSG is in the lead 3-2 on the aggregate, but, Bayern is not going to slow down for anything.

The match should be close as both teams would like a berth in the semifinals. At bet365 Sports, Bayen Munich is the favorite to win this match, but, PSG is the favorites to advance. The odds on the outright win tonight are 2.15 for Bayern and 2.90 for PSG. For PSG to advance, bet365 Sports has them at 1.33, while Bayern is behind at 3.25.

Chelsea vs. Porto, Tuesday at 20:00 GMT

Even though Chelsea is the favorite to win tonight and to advance to the semifinals, Porto has a lot to be proud of. We are not counting them out just yet, but, it will be difficult for manager Sergio Conceicao to lead his team to a victory, let alone coming back from a 2-0 aggregate.

Porto defeated Juventus in the last round and went on to win. They also played better soccer than Chelsea did last week, generated twice the amount of shots that the Blues took, pressured the ball effectively, and forced Chelsea to be on the counter-attack throughout the match.

Alas, Chelsea won, but, Porto is at home tonight so there is a small chance that they could win.

The odds at bet365 Sports are very much in favor of Chelsea. They are listed at 1.80 for a win and odds of 1.04 to advance. Porto is way back at 4.20 to win, and 13.00 to advance.
