Champions League Semifinal: Monaco vs Juventus

Sol FH. - May 3, 2017

Monaco hosts Juventus tonight in the first leg of their semifinal match-up, do not miss the action at 19:45 GMT.

The Champions League semifinals got underway last night and the Madrid derby was won in terrific form by Real Madrid. Christiano Ronaldo scored three highlight-worthy goals in a hat-trick performance by the Portuguese star, and with things taking place next week on the other side of town at Vicente Calderón Stadium, they are in great form to meet the winners of tonight's match between Monaco and Juventus.

Incredible Offense vs Perfect Defense

Monaco have really shocked many critics after making it to the semifinals with such a young team. Not only is their roster less experienced than any other team in the competition, they are winning games by scoring multiple goals against the best teams in the world. In the round of 16, Monaco beat out Manchester City and then in the quarterfinals they did away with Borussia Dortmund, scoring twelve goals in those four matches. Tonight though, they go against arguably the best defense in the world currently, as Juventus has only let two goals in since the beginning of the Champions League tournament, including two clean sheets against Barcelona.

Juventus are confident that both their defense, and their experience will guide them to victory. Gianluigi Buffon, was related, "They have youth and the indifference that comes with it. I think over the two matches, 180 minutes, experience will play into our hands." That being said, Monaco's explosive offense led by 18-year-old Kylian Mbappe has turned some critics into believers. The young forward has scored five goals in four matches against City and Dortmund, but even in league play Monaco has found the back of the net with 95 goals in 34 games.

Monaco Underdogs for the Win

Juventus may have the advantage tonight, but the smart bet will be on Monaco. bet365 Sports has posted their odds in favor of the Italians at 2.45, while Monaco are at 3.10 and a draw is at 3.40. Now either a Monaco victory or a draw is most-likely, but with the French side scoring multiple goals in each outing, test your skill wit an outright, or a Correct Score wager.
